Mari works as a domestic worker in Buenos Aires City. She speaks very little, at her home and at work.
One day she calls the home of Adriana (the film's co-director), for whom she has been working for 30 years, asking for shelter because she has just left her home, where she lived with her abusive husband, children and grandchildren.
Despite social and family pressures, Mari begins speaking up and living her life according to her long repressed will. She links her personal experience with social problems and rediscovers herself.
